A budget system for people who hate budgets.

This system is a goddess send for those of us who are perennially disorganized. It offers a simple, hands on system. No computer grids. It's like a game you can play by yourself or with your partner. If you like to compete you can see who can save more $$. The Game allowed us to spend our savings on things that would really last like landscaping or furniture, rather then the candy bars and lattes we buy for instant gratification. It takes a little effort to focus and get started but once you do it's kind of addictive. Envelopes! I love the envelope method. And using real cash make the system real, concrete and visible. I hate it when I look at my credit care statements and realize I have spent a $1000 in $10. to $60.00 pops, and wonder what did I buy?! This system will totally help with that problem. You can afford this book!

And it's set up as a game -- easy to play! Mrs. Baker tells you exactly what simple items you need to play. She provides tips and a help box to get you started. The game is fun and it works. Are you competitive? Play with others; raise the stakes; the loser pays for a dinner.
I love how all one needs are envelopes, paper and pencil and, of course, real CASH. Money begets more money.

Melissa Baker has a special way of simplifying complex and problematic issues so that they are then easy and fun to deal with. Money is one of the most problematic issue in most relationships. Using cash changes the way you think about your expenditures - it really does. What is kind of surprising, is that I find I appreciate my money (and what I can use it for) much more when using cash, instead of cards. I realize it seems difficult to contemplate using cash when everything you buy is online. It's not. Melissa has the answer to that, and more, in her easy to read book. It will change the way you deal with money, is easy to implement, saves you lots in the process, and is even fun to do!
