Mastering sales in your way!

This book is a really cool starter book on learning how to be a better sales person while maintaining your dignity. I don't know how many times I have met salespeople who seem desperate to make a sale and it completely turned me off. This book showed me how to stay true to who i am in all situations and to not let any sale make me lower my standards and change who I am. Staying true to myself is paramount to success. I would recommend this book to anyone trying to make it in a career in sales.

Excellent Read for Tips to Getting to a Sale

Very well written and straight to the point. There are valuable tips for anyone in sales and even the seasoned professional can gain a few insights. There are some practical tips to help you improve your people skills and this is really what makes the sale. I recommend this book for all to read, not only sales people. In our everyday lives we are constantly selling ourselves within our working environments, family,friends and with everyone we encounter. Excellent Read and advice.

Helped me with my real estate project but the formatting is ugly

I had a special real estate project involving selling and I was able to get 2 out of 5 folks to say "Yes" thanks to the tips in the guide. This guide doesn't cover real estate specifically but I did apply some of the principles and enjoyed some success. It took me awhile though to learn all this stuff because of the double-spaced lines. Wish it would look like a normal Kindle book for the sake of other people who might want to learn these techniques.

I have enjoyed Faye Sonja’s work in the Mail Order Brides Series in the past, and this boxed set is no exception. All the stories are quaint and romantic, well-written, and not so long as to be intimidating. If there is one thing I have come to expect from Faye Sonja’s work, it is that her stories will be the perfect length to enjoy in a single afternoon. All five books in this box set are good, light-hearted, romantic tales that promise to steal readers away to the Wild West for a day or an afternoon, so they can forget the business and stress of regular life. Great read!

The five stories in this series are beautifully written. The author has done a great service to her readers, the first two were a little different than the usual mail order bride story, but well done. The following three were wonderful, leaving me living in the tales with the characters. Gary

Insights from Hollywoods successful stars

I throughly enjoyed, Ultimate Hindsight. Mr. Stoval's collected wisdom from such people as Matthew McConaughey to Katherine Hepburn made for a fascinating read. Insights on life from Billy Joel and how he "plays for life." And how Barbra Streisand "uses doubt to motivate herself." Follow their insights that got them to the top of their careers. I'm hoping it will help me reach mine.

In “The Ultimate Hindsight,” New York Times Bestselling Author Jim Stovall has compiled compelling observations on success taken from personal interviews and correspondence with 100 super achievers, men and women recognized for their successful career accomplishments in the fields of entertainment, sports, business, medicine, law, the military, education, and religion; as well as everyday heroes who have become overcomers, meeting life’s challenges, and coming out on top.

In his interviews and correspondence Stovall asked for insight from his respondents in answer to questions of this nature: What are your thoughts on hindsight and what you learned from it that helped lead to your success? What is your viewpoint of success? What does success and happiness mean to you personally? And what do you want to be remembered for?

I was deeply moved by many of the stories that accompanied these responses and how unique influences, experiences, and circumstances the established the life patterns and habits that determined the direction behind each success story.

In the process of reading the book, I noted there were various combinations of core values appearing within three or more responses. I began to filter these through my own set of values, goals, and the things that give me a sense of accomplishment, and satisfaction, that in turn make a contribution to others. Some of these are pursuits that have already become important to me. Others I want to incorporate as additional foundation stones in my own appraisal of success.

A passion for following my dreams, making the most of the moment, and enjoying the journey are all noble goals to pursue. Add to this perseverance, a positive attitude, a persistent faith, and enthusiasm for hard work. Other guidelines include: keep your priorities in order, make a difference, impact others, keep learning from life, obey God and count your blessings. I would like to be remembered as a man of character, integrity, generous, humble and compassionate Jim Stovall’s life models the lessons he has learned from his association with these leaders and influencers. Readers of all stages in life, and career fields, or those experiencing unique difficulties and circumnutates will be challenged, inspired, and motivated to learn from the “Ultimate Hindsight” and wisdom from Jim Stovall’s “100 super achievers.”

The Definitive Tax Book!

Kirk is a master tax advisor. I've personally known him for more than 2 decades. He's a retired veteran of the US Navy, and an absolutely brilliant person. He knows his way around taxes more than anyone I've ever known, and his guidance has really helped me on my taxes over the years. This book is an absolute MUST HAVE for anyone needing advice on their taxes (especially for those in the military). You can buy this book with total confidence. Kirk knows what he's talking about, and will definitely make doing your taxes an absolute breeze without any stress whatsoever. But this book now, and thank him later!

I'm buying this book today for one sole purpose: I found Kirk through a Google search regarding a very specific question; he very courteously aND promptly answered my question, by asking for specific information, in a manner 'I' could digest and understand. He didn't know me from Jack! I look forward to the information and reading the book.

Nice read. Definitely a workbook

Nice read. Definitely a workbook, that you need to come to the table ready to work with. Good examples and straight talk. I might be convinced to go to 5 stars, if you did the worksheets for me... In all seriousness, reading this will make you answer some tough questions about your priorities and how committed you are to really planning for your life. No magic, just practical activities and attention to detail. . I may add more t this review, when I am able to complete all the worksheets. The truth hurts, and I just took a break from having my feelings hurt,... in a good way. Highly recommend.

Emphasis on Liberation

The authors took such an aged, cliche subject - budgeting - and gave it very current, practical application. There are key principles given that re-shaped my approach to spending. For just coming out of the broom closet, I would say this is an excellent place to start for your book of shadows. I aways knew there was something different about me. I explored this craft a little when I was an older teen, but never really did anything after that. I always new when something was going to happen. Now at age 55, I am starting to follow my instincts and do what I was born to do. I love the fact that author gives ideas and lets you know how other people make theirs. Also on where to start, what to contemplate putting into it, she put a lot of thought into this book. I am grateful that this is they book I choose. I realize it's not something I need to do right away, and it take time to fill it with the things that have meaning for me.
She teaches that the Book of Shadows is unique and personalized to each individual who makes a Book of Shadows. Thank you Ashlyn Hawthorne.

Delightful short story.

I thoroughly enjoyed this sweet (clean) short story...my first introduction to the PAJARO BAY series...and I definitely want more! I'll be looking for more books in this series by Barbara Cool Lee.

The romance was so sweet! It developed so naturally, believably, and the dialogue between Kim and her group of zany girlfriends, and between Kim and her new squeeze, Gage. The brevity of language used to convey the dialogue, setting, motivation was refreshing. The beauty is in the simplicity of this story! It pulled me right through, kept me reading right 'til the end. The pacing was outstanding. Loved it!

Finally, after a long wait, we get to read a short and sweet story from Barbara Cool Lee. I fell in love with the 1st book and the 2nd and now the 3rd! The characters are well written and I can "see" the town of Pajaro Bay while reading along. Definitely recommend this wonderful series!!!

Including in this list of need to and wants to is serving others better and in the best way for each person (s). Another is to be a better person for my family and take care of our home in a less stressful way. The "Beliefs Gap" pinpoints exactly how our thoughts on how we see ourselves, people, and life in general is something I had tangled with but could never get myself to "belief" because couldn't put it into perspective. Mr. Smith has laid out the steps in a simple, clear and understandable guide without complicating fancy gibberish. Each of the sections has "baby steps" which makes it less overwhelming. I am no dummy but I like self-help books to simply say what they mean without taking the round-about intersections when a clear straight forward direction is better. And easier to remember. The examples shared at the end of each section further aid in understanding how they helped each person using these methods. For example, the gentleman who saw feared if one doberman pincher was life-threatening then all doberman pinches were. His belief had become foggy. And yet the lady in the example saw them as sweet and reached to pet it. Every apple is not bad just because one is. Mr. Hyrum helps you see through it. It's kind of like an all-or-nothing cognitive thinking but it is hard to see that unless we make ourselves aware of it. I would have enjoyed more examples because I enjoy reading and they further explain clearly how each step can be applied, but I liked the ones included.
I would definitely recommend Mr. Hyrum's if you want and need a better way to improve your life and and achieve the goals you have been trying to accomplish and how you see yourself and the world around you. I am definitely working on applying these steps to get my life on a straightforward path and peace of mind.

Close your gaps!

Don't be fooled by the relative brevity of this book or the apparent simplicity of its message--the principles Hyrum Smith presents here are both profound and powerful. Those who are familiar with Hyrum's presentations over the past several decades will likely recognize some of this material, but it's just as valuable today as ever. The great thing about The 3 Gaps is that Hyrum has boiled down those great ideas into a very memorable pattern that can be readily applied by people and organizations on a daily basis. Recognizing and then systematically closing beliefs gaps, values gaps, and time gaps are sure to make anyone more effective. I can already see some important areas where I'm falling short and can readily see how closing my own gaps will make a huge difference in my personal and team effectiveness.

Unsurprisingly, the book is divided into three sections each focused on one of these gaps. Hyrum explains each gap and then gives practical suggestions for effectively recognizing and closing the gap. His inclusion of material from the personal lives of three guest contributors reinforces his points and also provides very helpful insights into putting his ideas into practice. Although the concepts presented in The 3 Gaps are very simple, I plan to periodically come back to the book and review the material looking for additional nuance and nuggets of insight that I may have missed in prior readings. I'm sure I'll find them.

The 3 Gaps includes three main sections none of which will be new to you: Beliefs, Values, and Time. What is different is how Smith addresses the relationships between each and the clear way in which he helps us understand what we need to do to close our gaps.

Each section presents in a similar direct way and in some depth. With a little work, each of these three main sections could be a small book in itself. Each section also includes a practical list of actions to bring our beliefs, values, or time choices into alignment. Each list is clear, powerful, and useful.

After clarifying our gaps in the three key areas, Smith asks us this telling question: “What would I cross the I-beam for?” You need to read the whole description of the “I-Beam Exercise” to get the full impact.. Your response to the exercise begins the process of determining your Governing Values – those core things in your life that matter above all else, even your own life.

Once identified, we describe and clarify those Governing Values and then make some hard choices about which values are more important. In my experience, this is the hardest step for most, because every decision to elevate a value means another value moves lower on the list.

Smith writes clearly and simply. Warning: The book starts with a heartbreaking story of personal loss that is hard to read or imagine living through. Throughout this book, you will find a higher percentage than usual of personal and gripping accounts from the author and others who have faced horrific challenges to their bodies and spirits. The stories are often challenging, but give us clear illustrations of what is possible for the human spirit.

The Key Idea: Your choices about your Beliefs, Values, and Time, when aligned individually and with each other, will result in more positive and more effective living.

While many of the actions and recommendations are not unique or new, Smith has collected a powerful set of messages in one concise book. The brevity makes this an easy read, while the content makes it a powerful read.
