After the textile mill fire and the lack of employment to be found Gabrielle contacted her mother, and when she learned that her step-father had left the home permanently, she decided to move back home with her mother in Vermont. However, things were not well and Gabrielle eventually had to become a mail-order bride.

Gabrielle had very strict stipulations in what she was looking for in a husband. She didn’t want to have a physical closeness or consummation of the marriage. She was willing to cook, clean, do chores and help out on the ranch and offer companionship, but not a physical relationship.

Boone had lived a lonely life raising his son after the death of his first wife. After his son left home, he realized how lonely he was and believed that having a wife for companionship would be the way to go. He didn’t need a physical relationship to fulfill his needs and preferred not to have one since he was still in love with his deceased wife.

I really did enjoy this story, though sometimes, it felt like they were hanging onto their beliefs for far too long and not openly communicating and actually moving forward in their relationship. I got tired of the back & forth. I really did like all of these characters.

This was a story of love and forgiveness. Boone Dillingham, a character from Emily Claire's other books has finally decided to take a wife, a companion of sorts. Gabrielle is pleased with a companionship marriage instead of one based on love. She isn't ready for relations with any man. Both Boone and Gabrielle fight their growing attraction. Is it possible for more than respect to form? A sweet, enjoyable read!

Rating 2.5. This was a simple mail-order bride story that seemed almost novella length to me. My problem with the story was (a) I did not believe Gabriella's sudden change of heart once her mother died and (b) I never bought the premise of two people seeking a business relationship--not because these ideas are inherently unbelievable but because the story did not being me to believe.

This fab little book is a gem!

I am so relieved that I stumbled on this little gem of a book! I've been thinking about starting an Etsy store, but I've been feeling too overwhelmed by it all, particularly, yes -- by how to make sure my creations get seen among the thousands; well, this fab little book is a fun, clear, direct,and user friendly way as to how to make that happen in practical, understandable terms. The tone is earthy and encouraging, and what's really great is that at the end of each very brief to-the-point chapter is a "To Do" to create a checklist to set you immediately on your path. She did all the research (as it's all based in personal/professional, day-to-day experience with her own Etsy stores) and she so generously gives us the best fruit of that labor, in easy-to-digest bites! IBP and S&OP

With SAP IBP replacing APO in coming future; it becomes very important understanding IBP functionality vs APO capabilities. Setting a road-map with what benefits IBP bring vs upcoming transformation challenges will help business transform and adapt to IBP quickly. For sure IBP and S&OP have become buzz words but there are not too many artifacts explaining about SAP IBP and its S&OP processes. This book should be a great read for anyone who wants to understand IBP and S&OP processes.

With SAP IBP coming to picture and new releases I hope we have a great deal with new functionalities like S&OP,Supply chain tower,Inventory management and SPP let see how they are modulated in IBP then conventional Excel based S&OP process.I am very much excited to read the book but price is little higher to afford... Sorry shaun for that, I hope you will consider to see it for little chaeper for me... :) .

This book should provide enough knowledge to learn IBP as a process and how SAP IBP works. I have read Shaun's articles anf they are really simple to understand and implement.

Incomplete

This was an enjoyable book but I didn't appreciate the way it ended, or should say that it didn't end. There was a cliffhanger end. You have to buy the next one to find the ending. Glad this was a free book.

Another great book by Kelsey McBride. It leaves you hanging at the end and you have to read the next book to see what happens next. After a bad skating injury, Brenda is facing paralysis unless she can buckle down and make it through therapy.

I just couldn't get behind Brenda. I think the story needs some editing and crafting to round out the characters and make them seem real.

About the Author
Arnaud Broh� is a Managing Partner at CO2logic, a leading carbon advisory and carbon offsetting firm based in Brussels. Previously he worked as a carbon advisor for a consulting firm. Nick Eyre is leader of the Lower Carbon Futures team at the Environmental Change Institute, Oxford University. Nicholas Howarth is a specialist on carbon markets and energy investment at the Oxford University School of Geography and Environment, prior to which he was economic advisor to the Australian Environment Minister. CO2logic, a leading advisory firm in the carbon markets, participates in the development of carbon reduction projects to generate carbon credits by implementing various flexibility mechanisms (CDM, Gold Standard, VCS). A must read to get a solid grip on this essential subject.

To anyone looking for a sound understanding of the history, current status, challenges and possible future(s) of carbon markets and their importance for emission reductions, I warmly recommend this book. Whether you're interested in joining this field (my case) or simply wish to be an objectively educated citizen on this essential subject (my case too in fact), this book won't disappoint. The three facets I have appreciated the most are: 1) the book manages to both provide a lot of detail (should you need it) and make the subject look simple and easy to understand, even if your prior knowledge is minimal (as was mine). It does that by explaining the basics where necessary, so you don't get hung up on a concept that eludes you (for instance, there is a box on why discounting future cash flows matters - if you're a finance whiz, skip it, otherwise read it). It also presents all sides of an argument and breaks it down in manageable bits, often of not more than one page. The authors are careful in explaining context first, then dive into detail but one concept at a time, so you never get drowned in too many new things at once. For example, the chapter on the Kyoto Protocol starts with a little intro, then 5 pages on the political context (broken down in 5 subsets of about a page each (for example the Clean Air Act in the US), then a dozen pages on the characteristics of emission markets (again broken down in manageable roughly-one page bits such as "the European bubble" or "reforestation / deforestation), etc. Each chapter ends with a one page conclusion / summary, and copious notes and references. 2) the book is totally global in scope: US, Europe, Australia, Emerging markets - each side gets covered with the same level of attention (though you don't have to read every chapter if you don't need to). 3) what I've probably liked most of all is that the authors leave politics and ideology completely on the side. In today's political debate, you have good people defending carbon taxes with passion, and other good people falling on their sword for cap and trade, with each side depicting the other as fundamentally wrong. Well, the authors simply provide us with the theory behind both approaches, the pros and cons of each, and how each would be more or less adapted to a given situation and goal. It was hugely refreshing to see both sides presented objectively, so i could make up my mind for myself. Likewise, the authors do a good job of presenting the contrasting stakes of developed and less developed countries, again without taking sides. Finally, the book presents a good number of data, in graph or table format, including well into 2009. In a field that is evolving so fast, this book feels fresh and just out of the oven.

In short, I found this a must read to get a solid understanding of this most pressing debate.

Outstanding book

This book expertly addresses numerous topics with the right amount of detail. While carbon markets have multiple moving parts--often moving too quickly for anyone person or team to keep up with--this book provides the necessary frameworks to understand how policies will likely evolve and what ramifications they will have on business. Having spent the better part of 2 years researching carbon markets and corporate responses this book has become my favorite resource.

Elegant intro with a clear articulation of tough to grasp ideas

I am thankful I read this book. As my first book on carbon markets, it laid out the subtle principles of cap-and-trade in clear articulate language. I got it. And it was actually quite fun to read. What was lacking from this book were concrete examples of carbon trading in real time. If I could have my wish, the authors would produce a second edition which has a section called 'Carbon Trading in Real Time' (a snap shot of a month in the European Trading Scheme). In short, the book is perfect on getting the big concepts across but falls short when it comes to making the reader understand how the market really works each day.

Fantastic addition to the Bond series

Page turning read! God is a God of truth and He brings it out in what sometimes seems tortuous ways...but always for good. Secrets have a way of coming out, and it's good when they do. Held inside they only fester and cause misunderstanding compounded by miscommunication. Two people who love each other but who both believe themselves unworthy. Only truth can heal them. Stands well alone, but both connected series are great reads.

Lee Tobin McClain, once again gives us a heart stopping Christian suspense romance in her latest episode of the Sacred Bond Guardians
I loved each and every character, except the bad guys.The characters are so vivid and they interact well with each other.
It was nice catching up with all of the Guardians and Sacred Bonds.It's a big family reunion with happiness, sadness, bonding and redemption.
As usual we see the Lord working and protecting this fantastic group of men and their families.
I look forward to the next book in the series.

Hope this is not the last

I have read the entire series and they are all great reads. This story, like all the others, confirms the power of prayer and Faith. I am not sure why the first page reads "epilog", but if it means that this is the last in the series, then that is certainly disappointing news. I do hope to see more of these uplifting mysteries.

A great little read, if you enjoy good clean stories!!!

This a great little uplifting read. I really enjoy these books by Matt Day. No gratuitous violence, sex, dirty language, just a story about a nice family and their adventures together. This was perhaps the most uplifting of the series, but you will have to read it to see why. I would recommend reading the Charlie Flanigan series in order, as each book moves forward from the previous ones.

I often describe myself as a holistic problem solver. I’ve performed tens of thousands of nutritional therapy consultations—in both the private and corporate sectors—over the past three decades and have managed to successfully solve a majority of the health care problems I’ve been confronted with. Unfortunately, many of the patients that I’ve counseled arrive at my doorstep only after the medical orthodoxy has given up on them. Sadly, my office is all too often “the last stop.”

They’ve come to me seeking nutritional assistance for heart disease, type 2 diabetes, Parkinson’s disease, irritable bowel syndrome, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder—the list goes on. Not so surprisingly, many of them are overweight when I first see them. Rarely, if ever, have I put any of them on formal weight loss diets, yet, oddly enough, a vast majority of them lose the weight they need to, and manage to keep it off.

My commitment has always been to help patients attain and maintain vitality by teaching them to cultivate some modicum of holistic integrity, and to save a life whenever possible. I’ve always operated under the assumption that if I can help people to achieve balance in body, mind, and spirit, I will have put them in the best position to heal what ails them. As far as dealing with patients who suffer from being overweight and from obesity, my philosophy and approach have always been exactly the same. To my way of thinking, these problems are the natural result of a lifestyle that’s devoid of holism. The only real antidote for these afflictions is a commitment to conscious living and a dedication to cultivating balance in body, mind, and spirit. It will never be about calorie-counting diet fads. Truth be told, it’s about holistic transformation—optimal nutrition, emotional freedom, and spiritual sentience.

Meanwhile, as America gourmandizes on empty calories, amasses incalculable pounds, and sabotages its collective body, mind, and spirit, it becomes increasingly desperate for effectual solutions. And as it continues its desperate search for answers, it exposes its aggregate predilection for false promise and specious, push-button solutions that don’t work. Moreover, there is some question as to which worriment is worse—its addiction to food or its obsession with spurious solutions. There seems to be no end to America’s “purple pill” mentality. We appear insistent on clinging to the notion that the next quick fix is “the one.” Meanwhile, the knaves are lined up at our door and, as always, they’re all too willing to take advantage of our desperation and gullibility. We continue to exhibit a high tolerance for their spin, in spite of the fact that their sham solutions remain infinitely ineffectual.

The cold, hard truth is if we’re ever to resolve this dreadful dilemma, we must first be willing to dig down deeper. The diet du jour cannot solve this problem. We’re not gaining weight simply because we’re eating too much. We’re eating too much because we’re broken. We’ve become so averse to feeling the pain at the root of our “dis-ease” that we’re now driven to distraction with food. Weight loss dieting alone cannot get to the bottom of this problem. If our failed history of dieting tells us anything about solving this problem, it’s that it is time for us to stop “mowing the weeds.”

Our current pandemic weight problem is representative of a disease that’s causally rooted in dis-ease. Anything short of a wholehearted commitment to heal ourselves in body, mind, and spirit will merely result in more failure, and the only thing that we’ll lose is more money.

It's not an exaggeration to say that Dr. Mincolla is one of the world's top healers. I have been a patient of Mark's for over 30 years and with his integrated East-West healing approach he has helped me with hundreds of different problems of all types -- physical, psychological, and spiritual. As someone who is a professional mental healthcare practitioner and uses holistic approaches, I have been exposed to the works of hundreds of healers and health practitioners and there are very few who understand the dynamics of mind-body-spirit well-being like Mark Mincolla does. Dr. Mincolla has always taken the philosophy that he would rather teach his clients how to fish (e.g., take care of their own health) so they can fish (and be well) for a lifetime, rather than just give them fish and eat for a day. This is another fantastic book by Mark that will allow the reader to learn how to do that. As with all of Dr. Mincolla's books, it is highly recommended.

So much more than a fad diet book, The Whole Health Diet explains beautifully, and in clear, concise, and illuminating detail how and why the food we eat is integral to a balanced, healthy life. Mark Mincolla delves into how our emotional state, our attitude toward food, and the purity of our food is as important, if not more important than our caloric intake for maintaining a healthy weight. He also explains the mystery of metabolism- why it is that some people can eat continually and never gain weight, while others seem to gain weight by just looking at food- and outlines ways to discern your own metabolism type and design an appropriate diet. An eye-opener in many a regard, this book gives the reader all the facts, explanations, and tools s/he needs to understand exactly which foods we should eat, when, and in which portions if s/he wants to lose weight in a way that sustains a healthy body.

A brilliant guide to building your professional profile on social media

Forget the title – it undersells this book! This book is in fact a brilliant guide to social media for anyone who is concerned about their professional profile in social media.
Kelly combines the experience of being a career adviser in Dublin’s prestigious Trinity College with her knowledge of social media and writes a very simple step by step way how to use social media.
But this is much more than a how to guide and this is what makes it so good.
Here are some of the elements I found really valuable:
• A section on overcoming Social media anxiety
• Excellent chapter with exercises on defining how exactly you want to present yourself on social media (and a great section on how to clean up your digital footprint to get rid of things you might not want an employer to see).
• Use of LinkedIn as a connection tool including how to set up and conduct “Informational interviews”
• Mini case studies of people talking how they used social media to find their dream jobs, and employers talking about how they use social media to find ... and screen employees
An excellent book!
