A realistic way to get organized

I found this book as I was browsing online, trying to find some way to conquer my busy schedule. I am a college student, so my life is always pretty hectic-- I have to juggle class assignments, exams, papers, projects, club meetings, and countless other tasks on a daily basis, not to mention trying to find the time to have a social life and get enough sleep. I understand just how overwhelming life can get. But, I have to say, this book has been an indispensable resource to me.
The author has a direct, succinct writing style that I found very refreshing. He guides you through the process of “getting things done” in a realistic way, with an understanding that life doesn’t always fit into the organized, clear-cut mold we want it to.
The GOOD:
1. This book is, thankfully, different from the countless other “get your life organized” manuals I have read. There are clear, easy-to-take steps that have real impact, and, more importantly, impact that lasts.
2. The author recommends specific ways to get better organized-- for instance, he discusses using an app called Toodledo in great detail. This makes me feel like the author actually uses his own advice, and it works!
3. The book places more emphasis on actions than on lists. I’ve been making lists all my life, but actually finishing them is a much more challenging task. This book has helped me work towards completing tasks, rather than getting overwhelmed by everything I’m supposed to be getting done.
The BAD:
1. Some of the images in the book will no doubt be outdated in the future-- Toodledo frequently changes its website, and the images the author uses are fairly specific. This isn’t really that important, but it could cause some confusion.
2. The author recommends bringing sticky-notes and a pen with you to keep track of ideas on the run. This is a good concept, but I always end up digging through my bags to try to find them and grab them, which isn’t always convenient.
Overall, this is a great read-- not too time-consuming to finish, but full of realistic ways to improve your time management. I highly recommend that anyone who could use a boost in organizational skills/ time management reads this book.

Wow, an unexpected gem!

I stumbled across this book yesterday, read it last night, and this morning (after not too much more than an hour), I'm think I'm pretty organized at work. Again, wow!
I've read and loved all of David Allen's books: Getting Things Done, Ready for Anything, and recently Making It All Work. But I never really got it: great in principle, lousy in practice.
This book makes all the difference. It's quick to read but with really detailed guidance to get down and dirty with GTD. David speaks in generalizations, Robert in specifics. He's concise and to the point. It's like having a great coach helping you. This weekend, I'm going to get organized at home. No more procrastinating.
