"What a wonderful and delightful book! I read it with my daughter who is 8 and we both loved it! There is so much peer pressure on our kids and this book truly delivers an inspiring lesson. She totally got the whole idea that we are all special and perfect in our own ways. It is written in a poetic format and so easy to read and follow. The illustrations are stunning and made it an incredible read. We all need to be reminded of what we are worth and this book did just that, not just for my young daughter but for me as well.
Crystaline Rose has a beautiful soul and a gentle heart. She clearly loves writing and sharing powerful messages with children. I love the way her mind works and she is so gifted and a brilliant author. I will certainly be looking for more of her work, as I am always looking for new books to share with my daughter. I highly recommend this book to everyone, share it with your children and share a warm smile. It is a sweet read!"-Lacia Porter

Crystaline Rose is a teacher, storyteller and children's book author. She is a big kid at heart and loves writing empowering messages for children. Finding a unique rhyme and song to each story:) She has written 8 children's books so far and is currently working on the illustrations for the 3rd.

Light in my sadness

I woke up, crying, at 4 a.m.. I had to euthanize my very beloved 14 year old terrier, Dilly, yesterday and am beyond heartbroken. She's not here and she always has been.
I picked up my Kindle, perused Freebooksy, and found this little gem ( literally) of light and joy.
The story is so touching and the illustrations are what I needed, in my dark.

Praise for "Suzie Snowflake" and the wonderful message it imparts to kids. No one is perfect but every one of us has value and worth so let us celebrate who we are and the diversity and uniqueness of the others around us.
Written in rhyme, we discover that Suzie lives high in the sky which enables her to envy all the beautiful snowflakes she sees drifting down passed her. She glitters, twinkles and is bright white, full of light. But Suzie feels bad about herself. She knows she is not perfect because she has a flaw ...
"One speck of dark
just right in her middle"
She tries to rub and wish it away, but no way... it stays!
Upset and downhearted she seeks out her parents for comfort and advice. They surround her with love and encouragement and positive words that fill up her heart. They convince her she is truly beautiful inside and out. She is a treasure to behold and they both love every inch of her and she should love herself the same too. She is one-of-akind, she is THE Suzie Snowflake.
Kids will be inspired and take heart as they too realize their potential and specialness when the book is read and discussed. It emphasizes the power of a strong, engaged family unit and the incredible power of words that can build up and honour who we are created to be. To love others wholly you must first accept and love yourself.

The illustrations in this book are SUPERB! SO eye-appealing for young and old. Even if a child cannot read they are going to enjoy looking through the pages of this picture book. So what about the story?
Meet Suzie Snowflake, a bright snowflake who lives high in the sky. Sadly Suzie spends more time looking at others and being envious of what they look like rather than seeing how beautiful she is herself. What does she see is wrong with her? She has a small dark spot right in the middle of her. When her parents explain the reason for the dark spot and also point out that what is inside is much more important, does this help Suzie understand? A VERY sweet story.
Anything not to like about this book? For me, it was the sporadic use of punctuation. Sometimes there, sometimes not which I found a little weird and off putting as an adult. Kids are unlikely to notice and will be delighted with the coloring page at the end of the book. Book measures in at approximately 8 1/2" x 8 1/2".
