Many parents complain that their kids start, continue and end the day with electronic gadgets only I have nothing against electronic gadgets. In fact, many studies say that children who play lots of games digitally are good in logical reasoning.
As a parent personally I don’t like my child getting up in the morning and going for his laptop, iPad, a tab, or even a mobile. If you are thinking like me, then read this.
Studies also say that morning as soon as the child gets up it is better not to touch any electronic gadget for one hour the rays affect the child’s eyes. I am not saying we have to completely avoid it. Of course it is not possible in today’s world.
Let us remind ourselves that children don’t do things we tell them to do, but they do things which we do. If we say “Good morning” to our mobiles and other electronic gadgets than to the person in our home, then children would do the same. So please if you have this habit, then please change it for the proper growth of your children.
Please get up early in the morning. That is proven and tested formula of all successful, content and happy people. Please do your chores before the child gets up. Then, after you wake up, your child spend some time with him. You can tell him to do his chores step by step. Just keep a check, don’t help with his chores unless he is really unable to do. When you are around just being 100% with your child. Don’t check your messages and mails in your mobiles or laptops and just peep, instruct your child to do things and again busy with your work. Once in a while if it is a deadline, it is okay, but daily if this is your routine, then please understand what the child learns from you.
So when the child is getting ready don’t be in the kitchen too, as you will not be knowing what he is doing. After he does his chores properly, then you can tell him to do some exercises or yoga or meditation or pray (whatever you feel good). That is a very good time to talk with your child regarding anything under the sun. So enjoy that special time.
Limit the time of your child’s gadgets time. Don’t give him more than an hour for entertainment and game purposes (including browsing for fun). If he has to do his school projects, then give extra time, but see that only project work is done, nothing else.
Encourage your child to play with other kids without gadgets different fun games which we used to play in our childhood.

It also helps parents realize and rectify their mistakes while bringing up their children, thereby helping them in raising good and happy children.
The suggestions are easy to practice and they are beneficial too when it comes to raising children, thereby making the entire experience rewarding and fulfilling. It helps parents to be responsible, patient, attentive, and to look at things with a positive attitude. The fables and real experiences shared by the author make the information more effective and tangible. Smart parents should read this...

Being a parent and desire to be a hands-on working mother, I could not stop myself from reading this book from start to finish. I am definitely impressed with the author for the research she must have done while writing this book.
Kavitha has stuck to the concept of smart parenting for raising smarter kids. And she has done justice to it throughout. Today's generation is miles ahead with respect to tech know how. Give them a gadget and they will revert back with its features within an hour or so. Her tips and tricks in handling tech savvy kids are really appreciable.
The author's writing is not an advisory that is entirely boring, but instead, it is a guide for betterment. The statements have clarity and concepts are backed with logical reasons. The sentences are simple to understand and no description is out of place.
I only wish, the author had included personal anecdotes and a few additions to the layout for greater visual appeal. These would have made a stronger impact on any parent or would-be parent. Also, in few places I noticed a tinge of monotony set it for a dhort while. But, for a first time author, she has definitely done a good job.
To sum up, any parent who is truly interested in raising his and/or her child the right way, should read this book at least once.
P.S - I have picked up a few tips for becoming a smart parent for smarter kids. I hope you do so too!!!

The author attempts to bring out seemingly minor issues that in fact have a great impact on the child

Parenting is more an art than science. Just as every child is unique, every parent is unique. And every parenting experience is unique too. The fact that millions of books have been written on parenting, which still remains a challenge proves the complexity of the subject at hand. This book is a drop in that ocean of contribution to the subject, but is a drop valuable.
The author attempts to bring out seemingly minor issues that in fact have a great impact on the child. I agree with the author that childhood and upbringing defines life to a large extent. Paying attention to minor details that we often take for granted, can have a lasting impact on the child. The book is dotted with real life experiences and fables - reflecting on the author's belief that stories are the best way to teach. That is just right for children too. Self-awareness, active listening, paying attention, patience, positive attitude, and creative solutions to common problems are some of the many virtues that this book suggests parents to inculcate. This book is a good debut attempt at making a parent more responsible. If a parent has gone as far as picking up this book to read, s/he has already started on the journey to successful parenting. This book is one tool apropos to that journey.

Best ways of parenting!

This book has useful tactics for children raised by all types of parents, including single parents, couples, young parents. It was composed of real personal experiences of different people, including the author's experiences as a mother. Well, everything here is not a set of instructions for parenting, rather a personal thought that will surely help you accomplish a better result. I understood in this book that child's attitudes depend on how they treated by their parents and their environment. Parents could realize and rectify the minor mistakes they have done unknowingly in raising their child. All the parents wanted to raise smarter kids, disciplined, and intelligent. This book could really help them to become smarter in raising their children. This book could enhance the skills of the child in different areas, such as in social, learning, creativity, and life. I would love to share this book with my siblings and recommend this to everyone out there!
