I enjoy the writing of Max Lucado, so I was happy to have the chance to check out this devotional and see how it was. Max writes in a way that is interesting and easy to read, and in a way that makes a person feel good about all that they are learning. God is With You Every Day is a great devotional for anyone to read.
Who the book is for:
This book is for anyone who is looking to know God better.
What I liked:
I like the fact that this book has a bookmark built right into it - that is so handy, especially for a book that is meant to be read year-round, like this one.
I like the padded cover and the feel of the book.
Message-wise, I like that this book covers many topics. I like that the messages are short enough to tackle in just a few minutes of time. I like that the devotionals each have a scripture verse printed right with them.
What I didn’t like:
There is nothing in particular that I didn't like about this book.
My conclusion:
Overall, I thought that this was a good devotional with much to offer.
I give God is With You Every Day 5 out of 5 stars.

A 365 Day Gift to Yourself

It feels like Max is a longtime friend of the family. My husband and I have been reading Max Lucado books since college. His easy to read writing style ushered us into the world of Christian non-fiction years ago. His books line our shelves, and might be borrowed, but, unlike so many others, never land in a bag headed for Goodwill.
Lucado tells the story of every man. Any illustration used is a story that could be my own, or that of someone in my everyday world. He's profoundly relatable and tells Gospel driven stories in the most gentle of ways. I never close a book of his without walking away having discovered something new about God, with some take-aways to apply that learning to my days. He's a discipler of thousands.
This latest devotional, God is With Us Everyday: 365 Day Devotional is a welcome addition to my night stand. When the days have been rough, or I need to focus my heart before the sun even comes up, this book always offers a short, one pager full of inspiration and challenge. Lucado comforts me and prods me toward truth that I might or might not want to hear.
The focus of this yearlong scripture-based devotional is God's promise that He will never leave us or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). And that reminder? It's one I need to hear every day of the calendar year.

Another Great Devotional from Max!

As you begin to look forward to 2016 and start working on your New Year's Resolutions or things you're looking forward to doing in the New Year, you might be looking for a new devotional. Might I make a recommendation?
Best-selling author, Max Lucado has written a new devotional titled "God is with you Every day." This devotional is one for every day and is perfect to throw in your gym bag, work bag or for the morning. It's a quick and easy read, but so great! This devotional covers a variety of topics that relevant, easy reading and very tangible to your daily life.
Acceptance, prayer, anger, wisdom, worry, heaven, joy, and anxiety are just some of the topics covered in this devotional. It also has a time ribbon book marker to help you keep track of your day in case you get behind.
I think this devotional is a great tool to help you get in the word as you embark into 2016! I highly recommend it.
