A heartwarming tale of two sisters, a horrible illiness and the Lord whose love "shined like a jewel" in their times of need.

"My Sister, Her Cancer, and The Cross" is a wonderfully emotional story about the love between two sisters, a devastating illness that took one sister home to the Lord and helped the other sister realize just how the Lord uses "jewels of light" in our darkest times. Even though I knew the final chapter of this book before I read it because the author, Susan Moffett, is the wife of my pastor here in SW Louisiana, I still wanted to read her story. I've seen what my pastor's family has gone through during this difficult time in their lives.
This heartwarming first hand account had me near tears at times because it brought back memories of my own personal loss of a family member due to cancer. It brought back memories of good days and bad days. I loved how Miss Susan shared the times when the Lord brought her and Lisa together even though they were miles apart. I loved the stories of laughter and strange cravings. I even loved the stories of how hard this journey was for the family because through those difficulties, there was always love. "They done the hard and they did it well. Now was the time to be okay."

My own story

I also walked this sacred path with my sister and her cancer. Four years later walked this path with my brother and his cancer. Can identify with the emotions totally.
Would recommend for any family member or close friend going thru this with someone they love. Reading her story is like giving voice to my own feelings. Thank you.

Lisa was a very dear friend to me. I'm glad that I was able to meet and become friends with Susan earlier this year. It amazes me how two sisters who lived there adult years (20) on opposite sides of the country can emulate each other. It is only by God's love that I have a new friendship with Susan. I've heard many stories about Susan from Lisa and followed posts on Facebook, so when we first met it felt like I've known her over theses last four years.
